Fine Arts
City High School has an award-winning, exemplary arts program. Our visual arts program, led by Jessica Melrose, produces world class art from our students. Students learn photo realism and other techniques and create incredible pieces of art, many of which is displayed throughout the school and available for sale.
The Music Workshop Program, led by talented musician and teacher Danny Walker, provides opportunities for musicians at all skill levels to develop their craft as solo artists or in a group or ensemble. Musicians perform regularly, including at the Pennington Street Showcase.
Our strong and innovative drama department performs well-known plays and musicals and features original work by students as well. We partner with The Scamp and Scoundrel to provide amazing drama instruction to our students. City High School students have performed The Handmaid's Tale, Star Wars, Our Town, The Crucible, Scooby Doo and more great productions over the years.
STEM
We offer college-prep instruction in science at all grade levels. This includes our duel-enrollment program. Our science learning is hands-on and project based so students gain the real world learning which fosters curiosity and develops skills.
Our computer science programs gives students an opportunity to learn coding and IT skills.
In the MakerSpace, students have the opportunity to safely learn how to use power tools, wood working tools, and 3-D printing tools to bring their designs to life.
