Multi-Day Field Trips
Each grade level at City High School participates in expeditions during the academic year to enhance their knowledge of our region and to create community as a class.
In recent years, the big trips have included:
- Grade 9 spending an overnight at Kitt Peak National Observatory.
- Grade 10 traveling to the Grand Canyon to explore the South Rim and hike the Bright Angel Trail
- Grade 11 heading north on a statewide college tour with visits to Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and Prescott College.
- Grade 12 traveling to Los Angeles and Santa Monica to volunteer with Project Angel Food and Heal the Bay, visiting Griffith Observatory and hiking to the Hollywood Sign, and visiting various museums in Downtown Los Angeles.
In addition to the big multi-day field trips, students participate in one-day and half-day field study on a regular basis at regional sites, such as Biosphere II, Tumacacori National Historical Park, the Arizona State Capitol, San Xavier del Bac Mission, and multiple locations at the University of Arizona (Center for Creative Photography, Arizona State Museum, etc.).
