Who Are We?

Tucson Small School Project
Tucson Small School Project (TSSP) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting City High School and to promoting professional development and community dialogue that foster smaller and more equitable learning communities for all students. The Arizona State Board for Charter Schools approved the TSSP charter application for City High School in March 2003 and the school opened for its first year of operation in September 2004. Tucson Small School Project is an Arizona nonprofit corporation with 501(c)3 status and is governed by a board of directors.

City High School Principal

Carrie Brennan, MA University of Arizona, BA Dartmouth College. Carrie is the founding principal of City High School. Prior to her work in school administration, Carrie taught high school social studies and humanities for 15 years. She was a founding faculty member of District 16's Catalina
Foothills High School. She co-directed the Southern Arizona Writing Project's Teacher Research Institute and worked with local elementary and secondary teachers to help them examine their teaching practices and increase student achievement. Nationally, Carrie leads workshops on
professional learning communities, small school reform, and curriculum design.
