The debut of City High School student videos was featured in the "City Week" section of the Tucson Weekly. The student artists participated in a year-long project sponsored by Pan Left Productions and City High School. They created video documentaries of issues close to their hearts. Check out the final products at the Screening Room on May 18.

humanities class are on display this month at the La Pilita museum
(just south of the Convention Center). Specific topics include
cemeteries, communication, crime, the music industry and neighborhoods.

City High School as part of a 2-week trip to explore Arizona, Mexico and the
border issues of this region. Compass is a small school, now in its ninth
year, with many similarities to City High School.

UA Hosts Conference for Local Math Teachers

The Center for the Recruitment and Retention of Mathematics Teachers at
the University of Arizona held its annual celebratory gathering for
math teachers on January 20. City High Board member, Ann Modica, is
co-director of the Center and organizer of the event. Teachers were
treated free-of-charge to a conference, lunch, and heartfelt thanks for
their work in the classroom. All three of City High's math teachers
participated in the day.

City High School Receives "Highly Performing" Label for AZLearns

City High School is now listed as one of Arizona's "Top Schools" on the ADE
website due to earning the highly performing label for the 2005-2006 school
year. Congratulations, students and teachers, for all of the good effort and
good attendance! (We're not easy to find in the school lists, since were
listed under our nonprofit organization's name - Tucson Small School Project
- and because charter schools are often listed last, but be patient and
you'll find us.)

A School in the Heart of Downtown
City High School is featured on Channel 12's Spanish-language program,
Conexión 12, throughout the month of August. Students, staff, and
parents are interviewed for the show. Conexión 12 airs on Mondays and
Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.
